Lanzarote is located only 79 miles from Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, and it is it the fourth largest island in the Canaries. Lanzarote is of volcanic origin and some parts of the island you may feel that you are on another panet. The Atlantida Tunnel, is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world (over 7 km long) here is where you can find La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua. Lanzarote also has a number of beautiful white sandy beaches ( Playa Blanca and Papagayo).
